My favorite time of year to visit Surfers Paradise is off season. As the crowds are vacating the region I am on my way. This is the time of year to visit all the Gold Coast attractions and not spend hours lining up first. It's still warm enough to swim at Surfers Paradise and surrounds (especially in your accommodation's heated pool). Go on, head to the Gold Coast now. |

Surfers Paradise is central to Queenslands Gold Coast. Surfers represents a beach lifestyle that all Austalians can identify with. This sophisticated destination offers everything a sun loving visitor could want - all conveniently put in the one location. Surfers Paradise owes its tourism history to James Cavall who built the Surfers Paradise Hotel in 1923 and proved over the coming decades how successful a destination Surfers Paradise was. The main street of Surfers is Cavill Ave with its busy mall lined with shopping and restaurants. And of course, Surfers is close to the other destinations on the Gold Coast including Wet'n'Wild Water Park , Movie World, Dream World and Jupiters Casino.

Bed and Breakfast accommodation (including Guesthouse accommodation) was traditionally for hosted accommodation offering one or several rooms with or without an ensuite and a hot breakfast the next morning. In recent years the lines have blurred as many places not offering breakfast or leaving a ingredients for you to cook yourself are calling themselves Bed and Breakfast. In our view a Bed and Breakfast should be hosted and should provide a cooked breakfast. It would pay to ask what you are getting before you book. |
