Hobart can get cold, very cold. Being so far south and on the coastline it's very understandable. How does this effect a vacation to Hobart? It means bring some warm clothes and a coat. You don't want to visit during crowds and hot days. This is the time to visit and relax in cosy heritage pubs, admire the snow peaked mountains in the background or shop for bargains on a rainy day. This is the time of year I visit Hobart and I haven't been disappointed yet. |

Hobart is in the south-east of the state, not far from the mouth of the Derwent River. Hobart is a heritage city offering architectural splendours from the 19th centrury including waterfront warehouses, government buildings, hotels and breweries. With the snow capped mountains in the background you will not be short of photos to take home. Hobart had the first casino in Australia - Wrest Point which is still a vibrant gambling, conference, accommodation and entertainment venue. |
Dining in a Cafe or Restaurant offers one of life's simple pleasures. Whether it be a cheap eat or silver service, there is nothing better than a good meal. An Italian, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Mexican or Australian restaurant offers dining experiences to make you want to go back again and again. Try a local cafe for a coffee and cake or perhaps a light meal. Let's not forget the range of takeaway with pizza, fish and chips and noodles. |
