The township of Beechworth is considered to be Victoria's best preserved Gold Rush Town. To get there from Melbourne is around a 3 hour drive along the Hume Highway. Beechworth Historic and Cultural Precinct offers an insight into life on the early goldfields with an impressive collection of 19th century provincial government buildings. Buildings include the telegraph station, courthouse, sub-treasury and gold office, Chinese protector's office and the gold warden's office. |

Winery, Brewery, Cidery to pick up that perfect drink to take home. Australia is full of specialty breweries offering dark beers and special brews not available though liquor stores. Wine tasting and cellar sales are a regular part of any touring holiday or weekend. Take home a good red or white wine. If you have never been to a cidery, what are you waiting for. Alcoholic and non alcoholic cider needs to be tasted to believe how good it really is. |
