It really is the perfect time to visit Torquay.  A cool ocean breeze on a warm sunny day is the best time to visit Torquay's golden beaches.  Take a walk along the Torquay back beach on a sunny day.  The experience is breathtaking with the sounds of crashing waves and the smell of salty air.  Choose accommodation that allows you to watch the ocean from the comfort of your room or choose one of the great restaurants on offer.  This is a break that will recharge you.

Torquay front beach is best described as the non surfer beach (although on certain days it does have surf).  Locals refer to it as Cosy Corner and it is considered the safer beach and more suitable for families.  If you don't want to be splattered by constant waves this is the better beach for you.

Torquay front beach curves around from Yellow Bluff and heads towards Point Danger. On most days you can watch the wind surfers skimming the water at fast speeds.  There is plenty of parking the whole length of the beach with a grassy reserve located between the road and the beach offering water taps, toilet amenities and picnic tables.  The trees along the reserve are Norfolk pines.

Torquay front beach is protected from most ocean swells offering calmer waters for swimming and paddling.  You can't get a better place to take the family in the evening to have a picnic.  Rug up though - even in the summer the sea breezes can be rather cool.
