I had an older friend when I was younger who had every vacation at Warrnambool.  He called it "Warrnambool by the Sea" and his descriptions of the place were quite magical.  It wasn't until many years later on my first visit to Warrnambool that I began to understand why.  To start with a huge playground for both children and adults (that I just did not want to leave) and an early Australian port that you can fully explore with real boats.  This place really is magical - lucky I never grew up either.

Whale Bay Bed & Breakfast
We have three bedrooms, one queen size bed with ensuite and a twin room and double room with a shared bath room. All bed rooms overlook the ocean and have rural and coastal views. During the whale season you can sit up in bed or at the dinning room table and see the whales at play.

Warrnambool is around 270 kms from Melbourne travelling along the Great Ocean Road . It has a population around 30, 000 and is the only city on the Shipwreck Coast . Warrnambool is Victoria's southern right whale nursery with the visiting whales seen at Logan's Beach every May to October sometimes seen only 100 metres off the shore. With a proud history of seafaring, Warrnambool puts it on show at the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum.

Bed and Breakfast accommodation (including Guesthouse accommodation) was traditionally for hosted accommodation offering one or several rooms with or without an ensuite and a hot breakfast the next morning.  In recent years the lines have blurred as many places not offering breakfast or leaving a ingredients for you to cook yourself are calling themselves Bed and Breakfast.  In our view a Bed and Breakfast should be hosted and should provide a cooked breakfast. It would pay to ask what you are getting before you book.
